June Meyer's Authentic Hungarian
Sonya Henne Cookies

Sonya Henne was a world famous Norwegian figure skater, very popular during the early 1930's. Who named this cookie after her I do not know. If this is a traditional cookie I can't be sure, but I do know that this cookie was baked by my family for at least 65 years. So, by nestling in close association with all the Hungarian cookies, I do proclaim the Sonya Henne Cookie an authentic Hungarian cookie!

Regards, June Meyer.

Mix dough, form into small balls, roll in beaten Egg White and then into Milled Hazelnuts, or Walnuts.
Press down to slightly flatten ball while in milled nuts.
Place on a grease cookie sheet.
Bake 5 minutes at 350, then take out of oven and poke a depression in the middle of the cookie and fill with Apricot or Prune Lekvar or thick red jam.
Return to oven and bake for another 5 or 6 min.
Do not let burn.
